The All India Management Association (AIMA) was established in 1957 as an apex body of management, with active support from the Government and the Indian corporate sector. It was intended as a cause group, a body to pool management thoughts in the country, a forum to develop a national managerial ethos, and an organization to facilitate furtherance of the profession and its contribution to society.
Represented on a number of august policy making bodies of the Government of India, including AICTE, Ministry of HRD, AIMA is an active member of Council of Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO), which is the regional grouping of the World Management Organisations (CIOS).
AIMA is well represented on the Board of Governors of all IIMs, different committees of AICTE, All India Board of management Studies, Council of Institute of Applied Manpower Research, National Productivity Council, Bureau of Indian Standards, Central Direct Taxes Advisory Committee, etc.
Centre for Management Education (CME), the education wing of AIMA, is a full-fledged business school. In terms of student enrolments, it is the largest business school in the autonomous sector in India and the courses has been approved by DEC, under Govt. of India.
The PGDM and PGDITM programs conducted by AIMA are approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD and Govt. of India.
